I have helped the city through the recession we had, and we worked together to prepare Cottage Grove for the growth that we are now seeing. It is a great time to live in Cottage Grove and we have a great team with great projects in the works and I am excited about continuing to have the trust of the residents and continuing to serve on the city council.
Council Member Thiede and his family have lived in Cottage Grove for more than 20 years. His wife Cindy has been working in the South Washington County School District for 18 years as a paraprofessional for early childhood classes. All of Council Member Thiede's kids are graduates of Park High School and were excellent students, active in plays, and all achieved the highest award available in scouting, the Eagle Scout for Boy Scouts and the Gold Award for Girl Scouts. Council Member Thiede is also active in the local Lions Club, the Strawberry Festival Committee, and his neighborhood association.
