The Cottage Grove Police Department welcomes citizen's recognition of police employees performing in an effective, quality manner.

Commendation

If you have had a positive experience involving one of our employees and you believe the employee should be recognized for their performance, please take the time to fill out the Commendation Form (PDF).

Complaint

If you believe an employee of the Cottage Grove Police Department has behaved in an inappropriate manner you are encouraged to inform the department. Frequently, complaints and concerns can be handled without filing a "formal" complaint. If you would like to make a concern or complaint known to the department without filling a written complaint, you may contact the shift supervisor by:

• Calling 651-458-2850 during normal business hours (8 am to 4:30 pm)
• Coming to the Cottage Grove Department of Public Safety
• If outside normal business hours and City Hall is closed, you can call 651-439-9381 from any phone, or pick up the red phone in the lobby and ask to speak to the on-duty Cottage Grove police sergeant.

When you have completed the commendation or complaint form, either bring it to the police department, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm or mail to:
