Biography

Council Member Khambata has been a member of the Cottage Grove Planning Commission since 2017 and is the current Chair. He has also served as a Member Ambassador for the Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce.

When commenting on his desire to serve the City, Council Member Khambata says, “As a lifelong resident of Cottage Grove, I am grateful for the opportunities our community has afforded me. I am vested in our community, I have a personal stake in contributing to our continued success, to serve those same opportunities for future generations.”

Memberships

Council Member Khambata has been a member of the Cottage Grove Planning Commission since 2017 and the Chamber of Commerce since 2016. He is also a member of both the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce and Stillwater Area Chamber of Commerce. He is the Vice-Chair of the St. Paul Association of Realtors (SPAAR) Government Affairs Committee and a Committee Member of the SPAAR Housing Affordability Task Force.

Education

Council Member Khambata graduated from Park High School in 2002 and went on to study at the Universal Technical Institute (UTI), obtaining a Degree of Automotive Technology in 2003, and finally graduated from Inver Hills Community College in 2005.

Professional Experience

Tony is a licensed Real Estate Broker in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. He began his own Real Estate business right here in Cottage Grove in 2016. He also is employed with RE/MAX Professionals of Cottage Grove. Previously, he has worked at Minnesota Inboard Water Sports and for the Town of Vail, Colorado.

Personal Life

Council Member Khamabta is a lifelong and third-generation resident of Cottage Grove. He purchased his first home, got married, and raised his family here.
