The one acre Hazen P. Mooers Park is tucked away on Grey Cloud Trail South on Grey Cloud Island. This park offers fishing opportunities, picnicking and a terrific place for nature/bird watching on the Mississippi River.
Hazen P. Mooers also has a self-service kayak rental system that provides all the equipment you need to go kayaking on the backwaters of the Mississippi River.
Hazen P. Mooers was born in New York in 1795. After serving in the War of 1812 with "Aiken's Volunteers," he joined the American Fur Company and built several trading posts in the region. He married Margaret Aird and settled on Grey Cloud Island.
