This project is substantially complete and open for school. The Contractor will continue to work on site and building punch list items in the coming weeks.
North Star Sheets
Up North Plastics, located on the northwest corner of Jamaica Avenue and 95th Street, will begin construction on a 428,353 square foot facility expansion in 2019. This project will include the addition of 28 additional material silos and 212 parking spaces on their existing property. Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2019 and be complete in 2020.
PROJECT COMPLETE: Modern Automotive
This is a vehicle modification business located on Hemingway Avenue off of 100th Street in the City’s industrial district. Construction of a 24,000 square foot addition began in the summer of 2018 and is anticipated to be complete by December.
Park Place Storage
Park Place Storage is a storage condominium project that includes the construction of 5 new climate controlled storage buildings. This commercial development is located along West Point Douglas Road, between the Park & Ride and the School Bus Garage. Construction of the first two buildings started in May of 2018 and was completed in early 2019. The City has issued a building permit for the 3rd of 5 buildings for the site with construction of the building and adjacent paved surfaces scheduled to begin in the spring of 2019 and be complete by the end of 2019. This project included extending water and sanitary services to the buildings, as well as connection to the existing trunk storm sewer. Remaining site and landscaping work will be complete during the spring of 2019.
Construction of the new Triple Angels Healthcare facility began July of 2018 and was substantially completed in early 2019. This project is located on West Point Douglas Road, south of the Youth Service Bureau. The project will consisted of constructing a 9,215 square foot one-level assisted living facility with 15 parking spaces. Remaining site and landscape work will be completed during the spring of 2019.
PROJECT COMPLETE: TJ Maxx/HomeGoods
This project is part of the redevelopment of the old Home Depot site located on East Point Douglas Road, east of Hy-Vee. The project started in May 2018 and includes converting the old Home Depot building into new retail space complete with a new façade and storefront. This project is scheduled to be complete by Fall 2018.
PROJECT COMPLETE: Planet Fitness
This project is part of the redevelopment of the old Home Depot site located on East Point Douglas Road, east of Hy-Vee. The project is scheduled to start in late Summer 2018 and includes converting the old Home Depot Garden Center into a Planet Fitness facility complete with a new façade and storefront. The project is scheduled to be complete by late Winter 2018/early Spring 2019.
Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is the nation’s leading single-source supplier of gases, welding equipment, and safety products. They were founded in 1982 and headquartered near Philadelphia, PA. Airgas specializes in industrial, medical and specialty gases. This facility will manufacture and distribute oxygen, nitrogen and argon gases. This new facility will include the construction of a 6,075 square foot office and vehicle maintenance building, a 10,736 square foot compressor equipment building and two air distillation “cold box” towers, one 130 feet tall, the other 160 feet tall. This project will also include the construction of an Xcel Energy electrical substation. Construction for this project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2019. Completion of the project is anticipated for fall of 2020. This project will be located east of Jamaica on 100th Street in the City’s industrial area. CAPP Industries, Inc. will develop a 25.35 acre site along West Point Douglas Road between Park Place Storage and the bus garage for a commercial mixed use development. This project will include the phased construction of three 120,000 square foot office/warehouse buildings. Construction of the first building is anticipated to begin in 2019. Construction of the remaining buildings will occur in the future.
Menards, located on East Point Douglas Road, will begin construction in 2019 on the planned 43,808 square foot expansion of the outdoor lumber storage area. This project will include removing the existing storm detention pond, installation of an underground stormwater detention system and removal of 38 parking spaces to accommodate the new storage building and lumber yard expansion. This project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2019 and be complete by the fall of 2019. Menards will remain open for business during construction.
