The City of Cottage Grove Department of Public Safety also sponsors Neighborhood Block Parties for the residents of the City. Streets that are eligible for block parties include non-through streets (such as cul-de-sacs and courts) and through streets that are not main thoroughfares as determined by the Department of Public Safety.
Why have a block party? There is no better way to get together and meet your neighbors than to have a block party. Neighborhoods are better and safer places to live when the residents know each other in the area. This familiarity can develop at a neighborhood block party. Block parties may be held for celebrations, sports, games, barbeques, and other neighborhood activities.
The Cottage Grove Police Department does review applications for block parties. If you have any further questions, please call Officer Adam Pelton at 651-458-6035 or e-mail. Please submit all Block Party application materials at least 2 weeks before your event.
