The City right-of-way is located between the curb and ten and fifteen feet into the homeowners property. Most homeowners are allowed one City boulevard tree per property (corner lots may have two trees).
All City boulevard trees are on a five year rotational trimming schedule. Trimming services are performed by both an independent contractor and City Public Works and Parks staff. There are times boulevard trees must be trimmed out of rotation, for example when a storm breaks a branch, when branches hit vehicles or busses, when branches are encroaching on sidewalks or streets and/or when a tree becomes sick.
All maintenance on City owned boulevard trees is provided by the City. If you have a question or request a forester to look at your tree call Public Works at 651-458-2808.
