Level III Predatory Offender Notification
Community Notification Meeting
According to Minnesota Statute 244.052, the Cottage Grove Police Department is releasing
information regarding Maxxe Stevens Jackson, DOB 11-29-75, a registered predatory offender
subject to public notification. Jackson has been assigned a Risk Level 3 by the Minnesota
Department of Corrections and it is the police department’s goal to provide information to
Cottage Grove residents and schools to increase awareness.
On Jan. 22, 2018, Jackson reported that he was occasionally staying in the 8900 block of 92nd
Street in Cottage Grove. The Cottage Grove Police Department has no authority to prohibit
released predatory offenders from residing in Cottage Grove and the Minnesota Department of
Corrections and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension were immediately notified of his change
of address. This offender is not wanted by the police and has served the sentence imposed on
him by the court.
A Community Notification meeting has been scheduled for 6:00 pm on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at
the Cottage Grove Middle School, 9775 Indian Blvd S. The Cottage Grove Police Department
will provide information regarding Jackson’s offenses and representatives from the
Department of Corrections, the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center, and additional resources
will also be available to provide the community with guidelines about predatory offender
registration, general safety information, and to address questions from those in attendance.
