The City has partnered with Polco, a civic participation technology platform, to help receive input from residents on initiatives, current ideas, and issues facing the city. Throughout the year, residents will have a chance to answer up to five questions per month on a variety of topics.
The first set of six questions, which cover safety, parks, and communications, have been posted. They will be available to answer through Aug. 31.
The My Future Cottage Grove community engagement and visioning project showed that residents are engaged, especially digitally, which led to a project recommendation to continue to test and use digital engagement tools with residents. Additionally, one of the initiatives in the City’s strategic direction Engaging the Community and Forming the Vision is to develop a plan for a community survey. The City’s partnership with Polco helps meet both objectives.
