Cottage Grove residents are invited to join in the 2018 water conservation challenge. Just by following some simple tips residents can save water, save money, and become eligible to be entered into a drawing for a $50 credit on their water bill.

Cottage Grove's Blue and Green Environmental Challenge encourages the community to live in a more environmental friendly way by making little changes in everyday activities.

This year, the Blue and Green Challenge is focused on water conservation. Our goal is to reduce water consumption throughout the city to less than 75 gallons per person per day. By making small changes in their water usage, residents can help achieve this goal and be entered into a monthly drawing to win a $50 credit on their water bill. Residents who go above and beyond by submitting a Blue and Green Smart Tip will be entered into a special drawing and win their choice of a tree with a watering bag, an irrigation controller, or a gift card to Zywiecs.

Complete at least six activities in both the BLUE column and the GREEN column found on page two of the entry form, check them off, and return the form by the last day of June, July and August. Drawings will be held the first week in July, August, and September.

One submission enters resident into all three monthly drawings. Residents can only win one monthly drawing. City of Cottage Grove employees are not eligible to win.

The special drawing will be held in September.
